£1400
Springfield 1903 A3 rifle chambered in .30-06, produced in 1943 by Remington . When i obtained this rifle originally for my personal collection it was still in the Cosmoline and was unfired, i have only shot 500 rounds through the rifle.
Being the A3 variant of the 1903 rifle it has a rear aperture sight which provides a great and easy sight picture. The rifle performs excellently at 100, 200 & 300 yards and has an easy smooth action. There is a fine crack on the top hand guard before it was shot which was repaired professionally and has not been a problem since.
This model of rifle did see service in the front lines for the Americans during the start of the Second World War where US marines were issued them for the Guadalcanal campaign. the A4 variant was used for the rest of the war as a sniper by both the US marines and Army .
